Carolinas Center for Surgery is Hiring a Front Desk Receptionist Near Morehead, NC

Carolinas Center for Surgery's Laser, Vein, and MedSpa is looking for a qualified, motivated individual, to join our team as a Full-Time Front Desk Receptionist. The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for the courteous and prompt attention of our patients checking in/out for appointments, scheduling appointments, etc. This position will be located at 3700 Symi Circle, Morehead City, NC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Possess ability to interact appropriately with patients and attempt to resolve any questions regarding charges and payments;
  • Knowledge of various insurance plans and collects co-pays and deductibles as indicated by third party payors;
  • Greet and direct patients and visitors to the practice;
  • Check-in patients and update information and demographics in computer system;
  • Scan/copy patient insurance cards;
  • Collect payments on new charges and past due balances and issue receipts;
  • Post charges and payments collected;
  • Schedule appointments;
  • Make necessary changes to the appointment schedule as directed by physician or scheduling coordinator;
  • update Excel spreadsheets
  • Balance daily transactions and cash drawer;
  • Answer telephone;
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be organized, reliable, detail-oriented, a team player and have the ability to multi-task;
  • Applicant must demonstrate a positive customer service attitude/behavior;
  • Applicant must be able to provide information within medical knowledge and the medical practice policy, in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High school graduate.
  2. Comprehension of medical terminology.
  3. Prefer one (1) year scheduling experience in a medical facility or physician's practice.
  4. Computer experience
  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  7. Athena Experience a plus!
