The Integrated Innovation Institute (III) at Carnegie Mellon University breaks down the silos that impede innovation. We believe that by uniting the disciplines of engineering, design, and business, we can build impactful solutions that create value for real people.
The III is looking for a Teaching Assistant (TA) who can support the instructor for the duration of the summer 2024 semester.
Previous students of this course are preferred, but persons who have recent industry experience in software development and project management (minimum 4 years) can be considered.
This is an hourly paid position through CMU. Current students and alumni are encouraged to apply.
TA responsibilities include :
Assisting the instructor in providing an effective learning experience for students enrolled in the course.
Attending all class meetings for one section each week, for the full duration of the semester.
Tracking student attendance and engagement in class discussions.
Managing course activity online in Canvas, including but not limited to supervising student submissions, helping to ensure appropriate structure, format, and best practices are followed in all submitted deliverables.
Reviewing student drafts and final assignments, providing actionable, constructive feedback, notes, scores, and corrections as appropriate.
Assisting the instructor in the creation of quizzes on readings and other topics to review.
Holding office hours for 60 minutes per week to assist students as needed.
Clarifying instructions for assignments to students, as needed, through office hours or email, or via Canvas discussion forums.
Meeting with students and teams, as requested by the instructor, for the purpose of additional explanation and guidance on the assigned work.
Other duties as assigned.

Wage Transparency Requirements :
In accordance with the pay transparency legislation set forth by California, the corresponding salary range for this position, if placed in CA, is between $17-19 / hr.
