Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business is searching for a Director of Admissions Marketing and Communications. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone with strong marketing and communication skills and experience who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. This position will provide strategic direction for creating mid-funnel admissions marketing and communication plans that resonate with our target audiences for our world class Masters Programs (4 MBA and 4 MS programs) that will drive enrollment targets to meet the business needs of the Tepper School of Business. Core responsibilities will include: Create, iterate and ensure the effectiveness of email drip campaigns and related marketing content used in the CRM system for Masters Admissions, overseeing all aspects of the Slate CRM including the development of email campaigns and event promotion. Ensure that effective email content represents the unique attributes of the program and addresses needs of candidates as they move through the admissions funnel. Determines strategy and is responsible for outcomes related to A/B testing, assessment of open/click rates, conversions, and other marketing-related metrics through data analytics, reporting and collaboration with the Tepper MarCom team. Develop a strong working relationship with the Tepper Marketing & Communications (MarCom) team as it relates to all aspects of marketing for the Masters programs, including the strategic direction of digital and other advertising campaigns. A strong working relationship with MarCom is essential for our candidates to have a seamless customer journey from the top of the funnel through enrollment. In particular, connecting our marketing and communication initiatives between the top and middle parts of the funnel is a high priority. Ensures tracking, measurement and outcomes are captured in Slate, as appropriate, and will report on the outcomes to stakeholders to inform subsequent campaigns through data. Establish strong stakeholder relationships with key faculty and staff to market the key differentiators of our programs and attract top talent into our application pools. A successful candidate for this role will be a strong project manager to source this information to lead our marketing initiatives and provide content in a proactive and timely manner to meet marketing timelines and admissions targets. Ability to lead a team. Supervises two admissions staff whose primary responsibilities fall within the admissions marketing function. Leads the performance evaluation and associated performance plan for direct reports, train and develop staff to meet new and ongoing organizational and program goals with a focus on providing exceptional service to important stakeholders in their interactions with the Admissions department. Works with the Executive Director of Masters Admissions to implement the marketing and communication strategy to meet enrollment targets. In preparation for summer/fall recruiting, lead the annual creation of appropriate presentations and talking points for recruiters to ensure that key messages are consistently being communicated to prospective students. Share information with office staff to provide consistent messaging. Attends recruitment receptions in select cities throughout the country to increase Tepper’s Masters Programs visibility, attract higher quality applicants and stay connected to our target audience and their needs. Evaluates MBA and MS applications and makes recommendations for action to the Admissions Committee with a focus on career potential and outcomes of candidates. Conducts behavioral interviews as part of the candidate evaluation. Other duties as assigned Flexibility, excellence, creativity, and passion are vital qualities within the Tepper School of Business.
