Position Summary:
The Library Technical Specialist performs tasks essential to the orderly operation of Carnegie Science’s Earth and Planets Laboratory library and archives, and supports large library projects, including an upcoming stack weeding and reorganization project, and library catalog migration. In this role the Library Technical Specialist supports a vibrant research community of scientists, postdocs, and administrative staff. This position reports to the EPL Librarian.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to handle or operate equipment; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to pack, lift and move boxes weighing up to 30 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to climb a 6-step ladder to reach high shelves.
