Functions:

Successful applicants will be expected to:

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to draw blood samples for testing.
• Prepare blood-collecting equipment, draw blood, and safely store and transport samples.
• Follow infection-control and safety procedures in carrying out daily phlebotomy functions.
• Filing patients and blood draws information into our medical health system.
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and obtaining patient consent.
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participation in professional organizations, and engaging in ongoing training.
• Collaborate with lab, hospital, and office staff to ensure timely and accurate test results.

Prerequisites:

• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of patient care, procedures, medical terminology, and testing requirements.
• Have excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
• Able to maintain a high level of professional conduct and confidentiality.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, DMV check, and drug screening

• Willingness to undergo training as required.
