Summary The
Tax Manager is responsible for assisting with all aspects of income tax compliance, including federal and state tax, tax planning activities, and other related projects as directed.

You can perform and document tax research and analysis. You consider your analytical and organizational skills a key part of your success. You're great at communicating on and off the page and building effective relationships.
What you'll do - Prepare/Review/Assist with income tax compliance matters including accurate preparation and timely filing of federal and state income and franchise tax returns, workpapers, extensions, and estimated tax payments
- Assist with organizing and registering entities with various state and local tax jurisdictions
- Prepare/Review quarterly and year-end tax provision and related footnote disclosures
- Prepare/Review REIT tests and REIT administration activities
- Prepare/Review monthly sales and use tax filings for various state jurisdictions
- Research federal and state tax issues and assist in the development of ongoing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maintain REIT status
- Assist in various other tax matters as needed, including ongoing review of tax procedures to streamline processes and minimize risk
- Provide ad hoc tax analyses and other special projects as needed
What you'll bring - Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in taxation preferred
- CPA license is preferred
- 5 years' experience with corporate and partnership income tax in large private industry and/or Big 4 accounting firm
- Industry expertise in REITs is required
- Strong foundation in accounting and U.S. corporate, partnership, and state tax compliance
- Understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including but not limited to:
- Partnership taxation and allocations
- REIT taxation and qualification
- Due diligence, acquisition/disposition planning and structuring
- Tax accounting, tax analysis and research
- Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and sound judgement skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, technical abilities, and attention to details
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently and be proactive
- Strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Team player with a commitment to excellence and a high level of integrity

Base salary range for this position is
$130,000 to $150,000 . The Company provides this compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it, in good faith, believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. Total compensation for this role also
includes a
bonus incentive in addition to the base salary. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
