Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is Hiring a Test Engineering Technician I Near Franklin, WI

SUMMARY

The Test Engineering Technician I build and tests prototypes, verifies product functionality, documents test procedures, and trains staff on new equipment and fixtures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, harnesses, and instruments.
  • Reads and understands technical drawings, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Performs test process verifications.
  • Perform verifications on test equipment and routine maintenance.
  • Trains manufacturing associates on performing tests.
  • Participates in closed-loop corrective action teams.
  • Assists with implementing corrective actions resulting from root cause analysis.
  • Operates programmable quality control equipment.
  • Assist in product design, development, and production.
  • Ensures proper test-related documentation is completed, verified, and approved.
  • Prepare written reports and make recommendations for procedural changes.
  • Ensures quality of all incoming & outgoing projects
  • Assist in new apparatus or fixture designing for testing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Utilizes knowledge of electrical (digital/analog), & RF theory for testing products
  • Design custom test fixturing for product needs.
  • Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Use appropriate PPE while performing tasks.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards and clean/restock area at end of shift.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects and 5S-related performance teams.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of manufacturing experience is required.
  • Experience in the aerospace, military, and defense industries or cable assembly businesses preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • IPC-WHMA-A-620, IPC-JSTD-001 required within 3 months of hire.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Basic algebra: The ability to manipulate symbols and equations to find unknown values, express relationships, and model situations.
  • Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes.

JOB SKILLS

  • Basics in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP, MM, and PP module knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics and understand engineering drawings.
  • Understanding and experience in a Lean manufacturing environment preferred. Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S-related performance teams.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Reliable and willing to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and special projects and meet customer demands.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As part of their job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, and stoop and occasionally lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
  • Hearing protection in specific locations.
  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.
