Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for growing the business to meet and exceed the plan.
Train, support, and motivate independent sales agents, distributors, and jobbers supporting strategic activities.
Proactively provide contributions to the Sales Team.
Collaborate and participate in sales planning, including potential market evaluation, performance measurements, and resource allocation.
Contribute a continuing stream of market and competitive data for use in strategic development.
Work closely with Paint Company Applications Labs and Training Centers to help develop and promote DeVilbiss spray equipment.
Travel at least 60% of the time to observe and provide coaching and direction as needed, with independent sales agents.
Create and administer continual improvement processes.
Direct shop audits at key end-user customers.
Establish key distributor selling relationships with the appropriate management-level decision-makers
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a comparable field, with five (5) years of automotive sales experience, including the successful management of distributor and end-user relationships.
Sales experience to include selling through distributors and success in the territory, including both competitive and market evaluation processes.
Highly organized, self-motivated team player, with extensive knowledge of the automotive collision and repair industry.
Knowledge of paint refinishing processes and application equipment. Ability to read and understand technical data sheets.
Computer competency must include Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, as well as Internet and e-mail.
Above-average communication skills, both verbal and written.
