Carla Guilhem Design is Hiring an Interior Design Internship Near Miami, FL

The intern will work closely with the design team to support the development and execution of high-end interior design projects. The ideal candidate is a highly talented and motivated individual with a strong sense of beauty and passion for design, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the design and development of interior design concepts, including research and sourcing of materials and finishes
  • Create presentation materials such as floor plans, elevations, and renderings using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Maintain the design library and keep current with industry trends and new products
  • Grow our Material Library: Research, file & sort materials, contact Vendors for samples, catalog samples and create a digital library
  • Prepare client meetings including hard copy plots, printouts, mood boards, etc.
  • Collaborate on detailed drawings and construction documents, including bathrooms, kitchens, bars, closets, etc.
  • Assist with detailing technical drawings, e.g. add quotes, measurements on sections, and design details
  • Assist with Marketing tasks such as submittals, press kits, etc.
  • Attend client meetings and assist with project management tasks such as project timelines, budgets, and communication with vendors and contractors
  • Participate in site visits to observe and document construction progress and ensure that designs are being implemented according to specifications

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited interior design program or related field
  • Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, and furnishings commonly used in high-end interior design projects
  • Extreme curiosity and Interest in learning about all aspects of the interior design business

This is a full-time internship with a minimum commitment of 3-6 months. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
