About The PositionInstructor - Diagnostic Medical Sonography Echocardiography.Instructor needed for Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. This is an accelerated, 10-week quarter-based program, located in Jeffersonville, IN.

We believe in wrapping support around our students, helping them to reach their goals, while holding them accountable for their individual learning.
Title: Instructor.
Department: Diagnostic Medical Sonography-Echocardiography.
Immediate Supervisor: Program Director, Diagnostic Medical Sonography Echocardiography.
Employment Status: Full-Time.
Job SummaryInstructors are required to provide instruction and monitor learning/teaching effectiveness in courses assigned by the Program Director.
They are responsible for, but are not limited to, the following:
Educational Requirements
- Must meet ABHES, CAAHEP, KCPE and BPE instructor qualifications.
- Associate degree required.
- Must have two years in the field experience.

Job SummaryInstructors are required to provide instruction and monitor learning/teaching effectiveness in courses assigned by the Program Director.
They are responsible for, but are not limited to, the following:
- Teach course(s) or lab(s).
- Prepare and, on the first day of class, distribute course syllabi that informs the students as to absences, tardiness, testing, assignments and grading policies.
- Inform students of their progress by promptly returning assignments, quizzes, tests and homework.
- Compile, administer and grade instruments that evaluate student progress.
- Encourage the use of school resources, outside library and internet sources.
- Counsel students and notify student and Program Director of frequent absences, failures, or necessary make-up work.
- Hold all assigned classes on time in the assigned classrooms and be available to students 15 minutes before class, except between classes (if teaching courses back-to-back), and 15 minutes after class to offer guidance/tutoring to students.
- Follow procedures related to the Registrar’s office, including grade papers and deadlines, attendance record reports, withdrawal deadlines, midterm reports and the like.
- Follow the academic calendar and procedures.
- Direct library research or other outside assignments.
- Promote Caris College programs and curricula.
- Update syllabi, as needed.
- Substitute for colleagues when necessary.
- Provide a safe environment for students and be responsible for the security of assigned equipment, materials and classrooms.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
