CARGO-Therapeutics is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near San Carlos, CA
- Own G&A Open PO review and accrual
- Manage monthly and quarterly close process (prepare G&A prepaid and accrued reconciliations, general accounting journal entries and reconciliations, schedules for internal management packages, and recurring amortization, accrual, and allocation journal entries)
- Prepare and record journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close with GAAP knowledge
- Responsible for month-end close and preparation of monthly general journal accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, cash roll forward, investments, prepaids, and various expense accruals and balance sheet accounts reconciliations
- Reconcile Payroll
- Prepare trend and variance analysis for assigned accounts
- Collaborate with Finance team members to ensure timely and accurate analysis and completion of audit schedules as a public company
- Assist with external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and reviewing outstanding items/PBC lists; liaise with external auditors in designated areas to ensure smooth and efficient audit
- Prepare schedules and supporting information requests for tax filings and other compliance filings (including Census reporting) as needed
- Assist in activities related to compilation of year-end financials, corporate tax filings, VAT and sales tax filings
- Partner cross-functionally with Accounts Payable to establish best practices, as well as assist with ongoing process refinement to improve the efficiency and accuracy of General Ledger accounting and reporting
- Be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve, and document accounting issues
- Assist in system implementation and enhancing accounting procedures to maintain and enhance the internal control environment over operational accounting processes and systems
- Assume new responsibilities and perform ad hoc projects and process improvements as necessary
- Embody the collaborative, innovative, and disciplined culture of the CARGO Finance team!
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in accounting; CPA preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ public company and/or Big 4 environment
- Biotech experience is preferred
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with NetSuite is desirable
- Strong analytical and accounting skills, with solid understanding of US GAAP
- Excellent communication and administrative skills
- Exceptional organization and time management skills
- Ability to meet all assigned deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
