Job Description:
As a Traveling Registered Nurse MDS Coordinator, your role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and comprehensive MDS assessments across various healthcare facilities. You will:

• Travel to different healthcare facilities to conduct MDS assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to gather necessary information for MDS assessments.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of MDS assessments, including assessment of patient needs, care plans, and documentation.
• Provide education and support to facility staff regarding MDS coding and compliance.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to MDS assessment and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Active and unrestricted nursing license in the state of Iowa, or Compact State License.
• At minimum, current BLS and ACLS certifications (Certification requirements vary by location).
• At least 1 year of experience as a registered nurse, actively within the last 12 months.
• At least 1 year of specialized experience and expertise as an MDS Coordinator, in a Long Term Care Setting.
• MDS Certification/License through AANAC.
• Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to excel in the fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Travel experience and/or willingness to travel.
