CareSouth is Hiring a Dental Clinic Manager (Internal) Near Baton Rouge, LA

SUMMARY: The position of Dental Clinic Manager will perform administrative and supervisory tasks, primarily related to, but not limited to clinical flow, performance measures of the clinical staff & providers, team building/cross-training and maximizing the Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) tasks allowed by the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry to optimize provider time; thereby improving patient care and treatment outcomes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Knowledge and understanding of Employee Handbook.
  2. Carry out the meaning of the CSMD Mission and Vision statements.
  3. Practice a culture of safety to reduce or prevent risk of injury, claims, loss, or liability by utilizing the Risk Management and Infection Control Plan.
  4. Perform responsibilities with a high-quality standard to yield improved compliance, quality, and patient outcome measures by adhering to the Quality Improvement Plan.
  5. Be present and ready for work as scheduled.
  6. Attend in-service trainings, departmental meetings and community events.
  7. Work cohesively with team members.
  8. Greets patients, families, and providers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
  9. Promote the mission and vision of the organization.
  10. Train and educate staff on policies and procedures.
  11. Facilitate advanced training in dental practice management software to afford high quality services.
  12. Orient new dental support (EDDAs, front desk, sterilization tech, and administrative) staff members and externs.
  13. Report employee issues regarding scheduling, performance, and attendance ato the Associate Dental Director.
  14. Directly supervise all dental support staff to include; training, performance coaching, conducting performance reviews, and disciplinary actions with the support and guidance of the Associate Dental Director.
  15. Ensure staff has necessary equipment, supplies, and tools to perform tasks.
  16. Initiate terminations in coordination with Associate dental director, and human resources department.
  17. Track referrals to outside providers and specialty clinics.
  18. Track and follow up no-shows, provide oversight for enforcement of no-show policies.
  19. Provide oversight for billing by tracking and following up on promissory notes for dental procedures, per procedure, and amount after 30, 60, and 90 days to collect. Forward to Billing Department for Collections and Associate Dental Director for review.
  20. Reviews budget tracking for all clinics in coordination with the Chief Financial Officer and the Associate Dental Director.
  21. Balance dental collections daily and provide to Billing Manager.
  22. Ensure efficiency of patient phone calls to maintain overall clinic operation and patient wait times.
  23. Oversee daily tidiness of operatory workspaces.
  24. Oversee equipment maintenance schedules, repairs, wear & tear.
  25. Assist in returning patient voicemails, particularly for the providers.
  26. Monitor patient treatment planning, patient education, outcomes and quality of care.
  27. Assist Dental Director with administrative requests.
  28. May participate in continuous quality improvement meetings.
  29. May serve as an EDDA, as needed, based on demand.
  30. Participates in community activities, such as health fairs, department outreach, etc.
  31. Must be willing to travel to all sites.
  32. Performs other duties as assigned.

LEADERSHIP

  1. Continually inform and promote goals and status towards productivity, quality, compliance, and safety/risk management goals in collaboration with Associate Dental Director.
  2. Effectively onboard and train dental support staff for success utilizing onboarding template.
  3. Timely complete and review performance with each team member.
  4. Motivate and build rapport with team members.
  5. Delegate and develop staff for flexibility on the team.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. High School Diploma.
  2. Expanded Duty Dental Assistant certification.
  3. Minimum 2 year's EDDA assisting experience.
  4. Minimum 2 year's supervisory experience.
  5. Minimum 2 year's dental office management experience.
  6. Proficient in dental practice management software; preferably Dentrix.
  7. Must have a knowledge and experience using Electronic Medical Records; must have strong computer skills; proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Must have exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  10. Must be able to effectively resolve conflicts.

  14. Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
