We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide direct support and care for individuals with developmental disabilities. The Personal Assistant will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their well-being. This position requires experience working with people with developmental disabilities, including those with autism and dementia. The Personal Assistant must have a strong understanding of resident rights and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
```Duties:```
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
- Engage individuals in recreational activities and outings
- Provide transportation to appointments and community activities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
- Document individual progress and report any concerns or changes in behavior
```Experience:```
- Previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities is required
- Experience in caregiving or working in a nursing home setting is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects or assist individuals with mobility challenges
