Now Hiring - Assistant Director of Nursing - (Elizabeth), (NJ)

(CareOne LTACHS At Trinitas Regional Medical Center)

The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Ensure hospital is in compliance with all New Jersey state acute care licensing and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Recruitment and training- interviews the candidate with the Director of Nursing, provides and schedule training to staff (with the Facility Educator) and analyses their core competencies to delegate specific job duties.
  • Supervises the activities of the staff to ensure that they are working efficiently and professional environment is maintained in the facility.
  • Evaluates the performance of staff in the nursing department with the Director of Nursing.
  • Handles all the documentation related to the nursing department and presents periodical report to the DON’s.
  • Lead weekly interdisciplinary rounds with staff.
  • Back up DON when he/she is out of office.
  • Work effectively with the DON’s and all members of the management team.
  • Manage daily operations, develop strategies for making the unit more efficient and evaluate methods to improve the quality of patient care.
  • Work effectively with the host hospital to create an atmosphere of teamwork and look to share ideas/processes
  • Manage staffing with the clinical DON to ensure a high degree of cost control.
  • Meet families and attend to any issues.
  • Oversee patient satisfaction program with DON’s
  • Maintain positive clinical outcomes.
  • Provide proper training, instructions, guide, supervise and mentor clinical staff to promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a role model and leader in implementing evidence-based practice.
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, evaluating and continuing education programs designed to meet individual learning needs.
  • Create quality educational experiences that prepare the nursing workforce for a diverse, ever-changing health care environment.
  • Assess the abilities of the clinical staff and collaborate with them and their nurse managers to design learning experiences that will continually strengthen those abilities.
  • Manages pharmacy costs and quality issues; reports to DON and/or CEO
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Participates in marketing programs as needed.
  • Qualifications

    Position Requirements:

    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
    • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
    • BLS certification
    • Current IV certification
    • ACLS Certification
    • Telemetry certification
    • Excellent communication skills
