Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounts Payable and Payroll Accountant is responsible for performing all payables functions, including payables, travel expenses, and payroll processing. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Controls expenses by verifying, processing, and reconciling invoices.
  2. Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices & expense reports and recording entries.
  3. Monitors and documents payment discrepancies. Negotiates discount opportunities.
  4. Corresponds with finance team and company approvers to review, code and obtain approval of invoices and expenses.
  5. Promptly responds to vendor queries. 
  6. Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
  7. Prepares all company-card expense reports in Expensify and reviews employee-submitted expense reports for accuracy. 
  8. Prepares all bill vouchers through BILL.
  9. Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  10. Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements.
  11. Assists with hourly timecard collection and reconciliation.
  12. Onboards new employees in Intacct and with payroll mapping.
  13. Responds to employer tax notices.
  14. Sets up Wage Garnishments and responds to agency inquiries.
  15. Responds to employee communications relative to payroll inquiries.
  16. Assists with payroll processing and payroll journal uploads.
  17. Assists with HSA account establishment and contributions
  18. Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience (2 years ) with payroll and accounts payable.
  • Sage Intacct, BILL, Expensify, and Paylocity experience preferred. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including Power Query, preferred.
