1) Seasonal, part-time positions available - up to 40 hours/week.

2) Year-round, full-time positions with opportunity for dock management positions available - 40 hours/week. We hire and promote through our Dockmasters team internally first! We're looking to fill additional seats on our team including Dock Managers and dock master assistant positions.


Typical day as a Dockmaster at CBC:
Customer service is a must. Meet and greet every member with a smile and always be of assistance. Help assist carrying gear, ice chests or lake toys. Arrive at work and verify fuel is full on all vessels. Prep all vessels (board vessel, start boat, ensure all system are functional, all safety gear on board vessel, vessel is in proper working order). Assist members and guests on and off boats, assist them with any gear they may have back to car. Complete a thorough checkout via our electronic reservation system on company phone. Complete a thorough check in/finalization of boat condition and gear. Clean the vessel thoroughly upon return. Answer and field any questions from members via in person or on the phone. Perform minor maintenance on vessels to ensure basic safety systems are operational. The day will typically start at 7:00am and end at or around sunset. 6-8 Hour shifts. Air conditioned office and water provided.


DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Greet members in a friendly, upbeat, courteous, and professional manner
  • Assist members in boarding / un-boarding boats with emphasis on safety
  • Check-out Members
  • Perform check of equipment on board (life vests, anchors, dock lines, etc)
  • Check-in members returning with boats, check fuel gauge, gear and ask for fuel receipt.
  • Familiarize yourself with local waters in order to provide basic chart guidance to members
  • Drive boats between slips and courtesy dock** Will train
  • Fuel boats at marina courtesy dock
  • Clean boats and stage equipment for their next outing
  • Deep clean boats as needed
  • Daily clerical work to prepare reservation log, reach out to reciprocal reservations and check weather reports
  • Weekend/Holiday shifts required (CBC is open weekends and most holidays)


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School degree
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Boating experience or a love for boating is a plus (we train boat driving/operating)
  • Ability to perform minor boat maintenance like bilge pumps, fuses, fluids, etc (we train this)
  • Physical ability to lift / carry up to 30 lbs
  • Physical ability to board and un-board boats dozens of times per day
  • Physical ability to clean boats often using handle mounted brush and water hose
  • Physical ability to kneel / stooping to clean interior of boat compartments and secure boats
  • Vision adequate to read / manipulate hand held computer tablets in bright sunlight
  • Have a mobile device to use company communication apps outside of work (Homebase / email)
  • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
  • Highly effective communications skills and friendly customer service is absolutely required
  • Must be a self starter and capable of working unsupervised occasionally
  • High attention to detail
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Control traffic in marina area and assist customers with docking boats
  • Always operate with an emphasis on guest hospitality
  • Use "clean as you go" method when performing your work duties
  • Adhere to all safety policies
  • Maintain a cooperative, team attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward the dock and the job being performed

Compensation: Hourly wage plus tips commensurate with experience. Additional benefits are available to year-round positions
