Surety Account Manager 

This is a support role, requiring the coordinator to assist the account teams by providing basic administrative and support functions in the team’s day-to-day servicing of clients. The coordinator will gather and input data into the agency management system and provide assistance with various tasks and processes relative to new and renewal bonds. Will participate in special projects as assigned by management or senior-level staff (e.g. Account Managers or Account Executives) and training with the team that will assist in their learning and development.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Provide prompt, accurate, and courteous service to major account clients, producers and company personnel

  • Assisting clients with solving their surety related problems
  • Bid bond issuance, tracking, and reporting
  • Contract bond issuance, reporting, and invoicing
  • Contract bond closures, invoicing
  • Electronic file maintenance

Candidate Characteristics:

  • Understands the implications of situations and exercises sound judgement in making decisions
  • Identifies problems, develops resourceful solutions, and possesses the ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines
  • Interpersonal skills with a strong sense of urgency
  • Team player
  • Time management, efficiency and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

Candidate should have:

  • Demonstrates competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with EPIC platform
  • Experience with Tinubu platform
  • Prior Surety experience is preferred
  • NYS Property & Casualty license or obtain within 90-days of employment
  • Understanding of financial statements
  • Notary Public Certification or obtain
  • Proficient typing skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works proactively to develop relationships with carrier and client contacts; may take active role in meetings
  • Prepare and send the request for quotations to applicable insurance carriers and spreadsheets results as they come in. Prepare and present renewal proposal and applications to clients.
  • Takes the lead on reviewing proposals and carrier source documents for accuracy. Communicates directly with clients and carriers to obtain accurate information to market renewals.
  • Creates and maintains client files in accordance with office procedures. May be responsible for keeping client policy records in the agency management system.
  • Answers incoming sales calls regarding insurance policy renewal via telephone and written email inquiries.
  • Follows up on suspense items and outstanding information from binds.
  • Required to work in the Albany offices 5 days a week

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-confident to make sound independent decisions
  • Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people and function well both in a team environment and autonomously
  • Ability to handle situations in a calm, courteous and professional manner
  • Customer focused to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Intermediate level of experience in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sharp attention to detail, decision-making skills, and problem resolution
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities, deadlines, and technology

Education and/or Experience:

  • More than 2 years’ se and/or supporting a surety team

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • P&C Insurance License desired

The base salary range for this position is $75,000.00 – $100,000.00. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
