Provides executive-level management and leadership for the County's surface transportation department, Palm Tran, Inc.
Responsible for planning and directing a combination of in-house and contracted transportation services.
Duties include directing and coordinating near and long-term transportation plans; working with elected officials and the public; coordinating with local, State, and Federal transportation agencies, and negotiating with labor unions.
Interfaces with and represents the Department to a number of high-profile stakeholders.
Presents to the Board of County Commissioners; meets with citizen groups; works with relevant federal and state agencies; coordinates with other County Departments.
Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Business/Public Administration, or related; 10 years of progressive professional management experience that includes five (5) years professional management experience in transit.
Directly related professional experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
