Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician

• Responds to customer technical inquiries and difficulties by telephone with a detailed working knowledge of Davis-Standard control systems and our in-house service computer systems.
• Promotes and performs paid service calls, resolves all related problems; and trains customer personnel. General knowledge in troubleshooting mechanical systems.
• Submits in a timely manner accruals written reports including all service work done, follow up action required, and submits to the customer or approval.
• Keeps accurate records of travel and living expenses in accordance with company policy. Plans and submits reports in a timely manner as directed by Service Manager, makes timely and cost-effective travel plans.
• Responsible for maintaining positive sales-oriented relations with all OEM customers and end users within the various departments of Davis-Standard.
• Insures that replacement parts are properly expedited to meet the needs of the customer.
• Insures that the terms and conditions of sale applied to service are met.
• Works closely with Davis-Standard sales force in developing sales leads for new equipment.
• Works on and completes administrative projects as directed.
• Perform Other job duties as assigned

Requirements of the Field Service Technician

• High School or better in Other.
• Technical/other training or better
• 5 years Assembly and mechanical problem solving-Preferred
• 5 years Reading blue prints and schematics-Preferred
