Under the guidance of the Director of Food & Nutrition Services, the Food / Meals Service Supervisor is responsible for the support of established operational, quality and financial standards for the department and is directly responsible the supervision of staff, ensuring all tasks are completed as assigned and the proper use of equipment and chemicals.
The Food / Meal Services Supervisor utilizes NBMC policies and procedures for execution of the job description and assists safe and efficient use of resources.
Utilizes approved policies and procedures, as they apply to the facility, in the operation of the department.
Trains and supervises assigned staff.
Carries out daily schedules and fulfills all sanitation needs.
Copes with some problems and confers with Patient Services Manager on most all problems.
Assists with inspections and evaluates physical condition of facility; recommends painting, repairs and furnishings to the appropriate department, while reporting all unsafe conditions through Maintenance Connection.
Attends regular staff meetings and communicates with members of the departments to coordinate sanitation activities.
Assists in maintaining the department in an “inspection ready” state at all times.
Maintains excellent relations with residents, Client and all community departments.
Carries out major projects, assuring that staff perform their duties and have supplies available to perform such tasks.
Conducts regular inventory of sanitation supplies.
Obeys all policies and procedures.
Maintains appropriate security for all department-owned property, supplies and operating funds.
Daily
Completes tour of the facility.
Meets with Director.
Greets all employees.
Participates in daily communication meeting.
Carries out project work schedule.
Reads and communicate through Supervisor’s log.
Weekly
Participates in department management meeting.
Assists in taking inventory.
Helps keep inventory of all chemicals and supplies organized and to predetermined par level.
Assists in putting up inventory.
Ensures weekly sanitation schedules are completed and follow up action taken.
Completes all quality inspections assigned.
Monthly
Ensures all employees have read and understand schedule.
Assists with all appropriate in-service training.
Reviews upcoming events as shown in the Monthly Planner.
Annually
Has input in preparing employees’ annual evaluations.
