EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: 

• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, policies, and procedures. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, or employees.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. 
• The employee frequently works near and/or exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
• Conducts tests and field investigations to obtain data in determining sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil ensuring all city, state, and federal environmental regulations are met.
• Conducts chemical laboratory tests, according to work instructions, to determine characteristics of solid or liquid substances.
• Prepare chemical samples, test for appropriate chemical concentrations, and record data on proper forms.
• Operate filter press to remove solids from waste water.
• Operate forklift as needed.
• May operate acid recovery unit for the removal of ferrous sulfate from acid.
• May maintain process tanks to ensure proper concentrations and temperatures.
• May perform other duties as required or requested
• May participate on project teams as requested
• Keeps work area clean and orderly. 
• Responsible for conducting all work in a safe manner.
