Job Description

The position is eligible for a hiring bonus up to 10% of the first year’s annual salary.

Envisioneering, Inc. has an immediate opening for full-time Software Engineer / Developer to support our current Softkill Coordination work at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). This hybrid position requires a DoD Secret clearance. We are seeking a candidate with strong communications skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment with multiple Government customers and technical staff. This is a hybrid position with three days on-site. Additional telework may be possible once established. Relocation assistance may be available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:

• Develop and modify C software running in a Linux environment to fulfill user stories.
• Collaborate with an agile development team, including systems engineers, other software developers, and integration and testing personnel.
• Determine root cause for complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.
• Remain current on new technologies and available vendor packages; evaluate and make recommendations as necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Sedentary/10 lbs. maximum occasional life/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required.

TRAVEL:

• Minimal required.

Job Requirements

 MINIMUM SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 years of experience successfully designing, developing, and implementing C software components and systems in a Linux environment.
• Experience working with agile development teams.
• Experience with a source control tool such as BitBucket.
• Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance* required at time of hire.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related STEM field.
