Staffing Strategies provides contract therapy services to hospitals, outpatient and skilled nursing facilities. We assist our clients with temporary staffing needs by covering for vacations, call ins and temporary vacancies up to 13 week assignments. Our clients are located in the Greater Indianapolis area and surrounding counties. Nature of the work:
The certified occupational therapist assistant coordinates an occupational therapy program. They provide screening and intervention services. Skilled provision of occupational therapy prevents injury (acute or chronic).Working with patients with disabilities and serious health impairments, the certified occupational therapist assistant is expected to analyze risk, problem solve effectively and demonstrate a high level of professional judgment when recommending and providing services, making environmental modifications and training patients to manage their occupational needs. Consultation with patients, families, physicians and clients is also an essential component of the certified occupational therapist assistant’s roles/responsibilities. The certified occupational therapist assistant assistant receives supervision from a physical therapist on a regular basis. Though working as a team member serving patients, is autonomous in applying principles of occupational therapy and responsible for working within the state Occupational Therapy Practice Act and other legal mandates.
