Cardiovascular Institute of San Diego, Inc. is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near San Diego, CA

We are looking for someone with a great personality, that is a team player and reliable. The position is mainly preparing patients for Cardiology exams, taking necessary vital signs and measurements; returning phone calls, obtaining lab results, and prior authorizations on medications.

**Must be able and willing to commute to other locations. **

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Must be computer proficient
  • CPR certified

Preferred Requirements:

  • Cardiology experience Preferred.

Job Functions:

Front Office:

  • Checking patients in for appointments.
  • Confirming demographics and insurance.
  • Checking out patients by scheduling testing.
  • Follow up appointments, sending lab orders.
  • Answering phone calls.
  • Calling patients to confirm appointments.
  • Rescheduling appointments.
  • Procedure scheduling.

Back Office:

  • Rooms patients upon arrival, documenting patient's vital signs and chief complaint in the patient's chart.
  • Confirms current medication list and any additional information as instructed by the physician.
  • Provide translation for physician.
  • Assumes responsibility for assisting physicians with procedures and tests within the Medical Assistant Scope of Practice.
  • Orders prescriptions medications, obtaining any authorization needed and notifies patient of any problems.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
