Job Summary: The Senior Operations Manager is high level managerialposition responsible to plan and direct the operation to improve productivityand efficiency. The Senior Operations Manager is a detail orientated positionwhich provides leadership and direction to a team of employees, while providingtraining and oversight to ensure the company’s operation runs smoothly. TheSenior Operations Manager is to implement procedures, provides information todirect reports such as the Regional Manager and Senior Vice President, andgenerate ideas to help increase productivity. Essential Functions:· Responsible for all aspects of multiple dailyfleet operations.· Develops policies, programs, and procedures forefficient operation of transportation systems and terminal operations.· Responsible for customer reporting, KPI’s, billingand driver settlements. · First point of contact for operationalinformation including but not limited to store delivery service issues,backhaul information, driver scheduling/availability, and driver concerns.· Submits recommendations for development of andcompliance with transportation policies, procedures, and programs.· Establishes and implements short/long rangeorganizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operatingprocedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness,and effects changes required for improvement.· Conducts continuous analysis of vehicle anddriver schedules to increase efficiency and to lower costs.· Reviews and analyzes reports such as P&L, revenueand performance records, to evaluate productivity and recommended changes.· Recruits, orients, trains, and monitorsprogression of new drivers.· Monitors turnover, evaluates operation, mileage,equipment, time off and pay; makes recommendations and establishes programs tominimize turnover.· Enforces compliance and administrative policies,procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.· Directs operation and maintenance of equipmentand communication systems; reviews procedures; provides guidance to resolvetechnical problems; analyzes costs and recommends cost control measures; anddevelops plans, policies, and budgets.· Performs miscellaneous job-related duties asassigned.
