Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.

Production Operation operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment. May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines.

Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. Some machines may be numerically controlled.

May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

The Senior Operator works under direct supervision of Manufacturing Management. The Senior Operator, Production Operations is an experienced operational role within a production facility.

This job is responsible for manual operation tasks coupled with the operations of basic production machines.

Operating light-duty bench or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment in the Briefs department. This could include setting up machines, making any necessary adjustments on the machines, and performing minor maintenance on machines.

Required to conduct inspections, as well as quality and processing audits. This job performs work under the direct supervision on the Supervisor, Manufacturing Management.

• Preparing, loading and setting the material used in the production process.
• Monitor the production process and directs other Operators to meet daily goals.
• Troubleshoot issues and maintain the line by performing tasks such as adjusting material alignment, clearing material jams and resetting equipment.
• Collaborate with maintenance, process specialists and other Cardinal Health team members to resolve more complex issues.
• Accurately document quality checks to ensure products produced are within acceptable parameters.
• Inspect and weigh packaging.
• Meet daily goals for efficiency and minimizing waste.
• Adhere to required safety protocols (including wearing personal protective equipment throughout the entire shift)
• Perform preventative cleaning throughout the shift and when equipment is down.
• Complete daily equipment audits to ensure machinery is operating within normal specifications.
• Maintain accurate paperwork.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 2 years related work experience and / or training preferred
• Applies knowledge and company policies to complete a variety of tasks
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility
• maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications
• Works on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues
• May assist in recommendation of processes on new assignments
• Adheres to all quality guidelines
• Works with limited supervision. Work occasionally involves review of output by work lead or supervisor
• May provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members
