Cardinal Gibbons High School is Hiring a Science Teacher Near Fort Lauderdale, FL

Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida has an opening for a qualified Science Teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for high school Science. The High School Science Teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.

Functions and Responsibilities include:

  • Creates hands-on, inquiry-based, project-based lessons that build excitement for science.
  • Demonstrates scientific concepts using models, technology, and other standards or teacher-prepared instructional aids.
  • Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, lab experiments, and assignments in a timely manner.
  • Develops and implements a curriculum and lessons that will foster knowledge and skills essential to effectively teach students in the grades assigned.
  • Promotes high standards and expectations for student learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Education, or related field.
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in science, education, or related field encouraged.
  • Three (3) years or more of experience.
  • Knowledge of the scientific field and strategies for engagement, instruction, and assessment.
  • Knowledge and training in lab experiments.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft, Zoom, and Notability.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and have demonstrated ability to engage students.
  • Presentation skills and knowledge with use of instructional technology, including iPads, in the classroom.
  • Excellent oral and written English-language communication skills, including a clear speaking voice.
  • Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in the Roman Catholic environment preferred.
  • Exemplify professionalism in behavior and performance.
