Cardinal Expo, Inc. is Hiring a Graphic Designer Near Orleans, LA

Industrial Designer / Graphic Coordinator

Cardinal Expo is a full-service trade show and exhibit production company. Our office is based in New Orleans, LA with clients and shows in all major convention markets across the United States. Cardinal Expo is seeking a 3D Designer with an interest in designing branded spatial experiences. You will work hands-on with trade show clients on projects that require strict attention to detail and careful adherence to brand standards. Candidates must thrive in a dynamic collaborative team setting and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines. 3 D Designers with a background and/or interest in exhibit design, set design, designing branded environments, and large format print shop experience would be a good fit for this position.

3D Design Responsibilities:

· Develop design deliverables based on client needs, budget, and show regulations using Cardinal Expo equipment/abilities.

· Create formal rendering and design proposals for client.

· Develop setup and graphic placement instructions for complex booth elements.

· Provide appropriately detailed designs for manufacturers of custom elements.

· Maintain parts lists, dimensions, and setup database.

· Develop new elements and styles to meet rising standards and provide improved experiences.

2 D Graphic Design Responsibilities:

· Modify client artwork to meet design requirements.

· Work with clients to create artwork based on their tradeshow needs.

· Design simple mockup artwork as necessary for on the fence clients.

· Create marketing materials for new booth designs.

Graphic Coordination Responsibilities:

· Hands on design and production for a full range of corporate communications, including collateral, large and small format graphics/signage, infographics, and tradeshow exhibit designs.

· Analyze dimensions and quantities, create templates and guidelines, and supply deadlines for clients to supply print-ready artwork.

· Protect the Cardinal Expo reputation by meeting all deadlines, showing attention to detail, providing accurate, quality production files to our vendors, and tracking orders.

· Send purchase orders and artwork to vendors, estimate costs with pricing calculator, update PO with pricing and shipping.

· Provide warehouse with expected delivery dates and notify when items arrive.

Other Responsibilities:

· Assist in project coordination tasks (i.e., ordering materials).

· Warehouse assistance with building exhibit spaces and applying graphics to structures

· Keeping track of warehouse inventory.

· Working across print and digital mediums to conceptualize, design, and produce brand identity assets for the studio, most notably the studio’s website.

· Check fabric and hard surface graphics for quality and properly store them after each show in the Cardinal Expo warehouse.

Required skills:

· 1-3 years of relevant experience.

· Bachelor’s degree or formal design training.

· Ability to commute to New Orleans East reliably.

· Experience with print and digital image production.

· Attention to detail in an ever changing fast paced environment in an open office setting.

· Proficiency in Adobe CC, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

· Proficiency in SketchUp or similar 3-D software.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

· Proficiency in web-based platforms, preferably WordPress.

· Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.

Ideal candidates may also possess:

· Experience working in the Tradeshow industry or any production related industries.

· Experience or working knowledge in QuickBooks to create purchase orders and invoices.

· Ability to create and manage production schedules.

· Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously AND ability to prioritize tasks based on specific deadlines.

· Working knowledge of Slack.

· Excellent communication skills and ability to be client facing and represent Cardinal Expo in a professional manner in person, by phone, and via email.

· Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and bring a positive attitude.

· Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed that may extended outside of the standard 40-hour work week, including weekends and evenings to complete tasks and meet deadlines during high demand periods.
