Cardinal Civil Resources is Hiring an Office Administrator Near Williamsburg, VA

Cardinal is seeking an Office Administrator to join our dynamic and growing team. As an Office Administrator, you will support the business at large and help improve workplace communication and efficiency. You will conduct yourself with high integrity and excellent attention to detail.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Ideal candidate would serve as an Office Administrator & possess a superior skill set that includes:

  • Answering and directing phone calls.
  • Review and respond to emails daily.
  • Greet walk-in visitors.
  • Order office supplies via Staples, Amazon, or other approved vendors.
  • Order and maintain print and plotter supplies.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute the mail.
  • Coordinate repairs to office equipment.
  • Schedule office meetings.
  • Deal with vendors for supplies, services, etc.
  • Maintain valid licenses and certifications for departmental employees.
  • Report any accident/injury with proper documentation to the safety officer and human resources manager.
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance via Shell.
  • Ensure safety guidelines and regulations are followed in the department.
  • Complete monthly safety training courses on Safety Skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist Human Resources with the recruitment and training of employees.
  • Assist Accounting with scanning and filing financial documents.
  • Assist HQ with renewing company licenses, leasing, and insurances (auto/liability).
  • Maintain asset inventory via RefTab by managing transfers and asset assignments.
  • Maintain fleet inventory with vehicle renewals, registration, and maintenance.
  • Business Development with new office setup (leasing, licensing, insurance, etc.)
  • Perform duties for other departments, as needed.

Education and/or Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • A high school education or equivalent is required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Office Administrator. Minimum 2 years of experience in Construction, Engineering or Surveying environment preferred
  • Microsoft Office (required)
  • Possess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills
  • Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements
  • Valid driver's license with insurable record
  • Background Check and Drug Testing Required

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential function of this job successfully:

  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50/80 pounds regularly/occasionally
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle safely regular/occasionally
  • Must be able to deal effectively and reasonably with stress in the workplace without lost time or undue strain
  • Must be able to sit, walk, talk, and hear for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to type/key-in data and answer telephones frequently as needed
  • Must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
  • Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear regularly/occasionally
  • Physical ability work including bending, squatting, reaching, stretching, sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs
  • Must adhere to company policies, safety plan, and the project safety plan
