JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: TRAVELING BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGER

JOB CODE: 5

DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

REPORTS TO: VP OF REVENUE CYCLE

JOB SUMMARY: The Travel Business Office Manager will train and support business office managers to maintain complete and systematic records of the financial transactions and a variety of other business office duties throughout the Caraday locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reconcile Resident Trust Fund accounts.
  • Understand and adhere to the guidelines of “Residents Rights” and assure resident safety.
  • Trains, educates Business Office Managers on billing, Medicaid application process, accounts receivable and collection processes and also serves as a back-up when positions are vacant or additional help is needed.
  • Analyze and observe the BOM functions and processes to ensure maximum workflow and productivity is occurring and communicate any deficiencies to the Director of Operations and the Regional Analyst roles.
  • Maintains effective communication with residents, families, and facility staff.
  • Track all resident applicants who apply for Medicaid assistance.
  • Continual review of outstanding balances and determining what steps to take to collect balances.
  • Maintenance of accounts as needed.
  • Performs and coordinates all collection efforts.
  • Prepare, edit, submit, and track all claims to all payers.
  • Adjustment claims when necessary.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information.
  • Performs and coordinates month-end close and business office functions when location positions are vacant.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • High school graduation or G.E.D.; two years of college level accounting courses are required or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years’ Business Office Manager experience in accounts receivable or bookkeeping is in the Long-Term Care
  • 5 years of experience billing Medicaid, Medicare and other Insurance payers
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry
  • Good interpersonal skills needed to effectively work with residents, families, and outside agencies.
  • Travel Required
  • Excellent, proven track record of success in managing multiple facilities that relate to Accounts Receivable Management and Trust Fund Management

Preferred

  • Experience with American Health Tech and or CASAMBA
  • 10-key recommended by touch, typing ability, including experience with computers
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work within deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

WORK SCHEDULE: As assigned travel, including some weekends, evenings, and holidays.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: General Office
