Capitol Paving of D.C., Inc. is Hiring a Project Manager Near Washington, DC

Job details – Project Manager

Capitol Paving of D.C., Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our staff. A professional license is preferred. The successful candidate should have experience in managing waterworks Projects and be capable of overseeing a wide range of plans and specifications including site grading & utilities, public improvements, sediment control, storm water management, roadway, water & sewer, maintenance of traffic, etc.

A qualified candidate shall have Washington D.C. experience and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Lastly, the successful candidate needs to be comfortable working efficiently as well as working under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates work of third-party, specialized inspectors as needed.
  • Analyzes the adequacy and validity of the contractor’s measurement data and the amount of periodic payment due to subcontractors.
  • Uploads project documentation to appropriate databases
  • Drafts responses to correspondence related to potentially controversial matters pertaining to construction contracts. Writes, drafts others and issues responses to correspondence related to all phases of contract work.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team.
  • Consistently Demonstrates Good Communication Skills

  • Assists with Proposals
  • Responsible for Billing
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
  • Determine needed resources (workforce, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
  • Responsible for client and customer satisfaction on assigned projects.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as construction project manager
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
  • Ability to work with multi-discipline projects
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with quality, health, and safety standards
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
