JOB DESCRIPTION
- The Test Engineer is responsible for coordinating vehicle testing, analysis and reporting of vehicle data, competitive benchmarking reporting, electrical demand energy (EDE).
- Preparing vehicles for testing, including vehicle updates, instrumentation and submitting test requests for EPA and environmental test cells.
- Daily activities for the Test Engineer include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain readiness of test vehicles (hardware updates, calibration updates)
- Instrument vehicles for data collection during testing
- Validate instrumentation functionality prior to test execution
- Create work orders for mechanical/electrical updates in appropriate garage areas
- Submit test requests for fuel economy and environmental testing
- Coordinate with scheduling and dynamometer teams to execute tests
- Perform initial data validation on test data
- Deliver test data to analysis engineer
- Work within a small team of Test Engineers to achieve program objectives
- Coordinate with customers to acquire data to support vehicle programs
