JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Safety Performance Engineer ? Passive Safety Calibration Engineer is responsible for acquiring and analyzing passive safety data, performing passive safety calibration testing, developing and validating ORC calibrations, designing enablers, identifying/debugging system issues for all impact vehicles

• Influence passive safety calibrations and investigate calibration issues to determine root causes.
• Interface with Electrical Engineering, impact test engineers, Passive Safety engineers, and other performance engineers for issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair crash test vehicles.
• Manage physical and component testing, including planning, vehicle coordination, build, test prep, and execution.
• Collaborate with the CAE team for virtual validation.
• Some travel to Chelsea Proving Grounds may be required.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 1-5 years of vehicle development experience.
• Two years of safety development experience.
• Two years of experience working on BEV/PHEV vehicles.
• Experience guiding HV vehicle design enablers using virtual analysis and physical testing.
• Broad knowledge of vehicle regulatory and 3rd-party requirements.
• Experience dealing with electrical issues.
• Strategic thinking, strong leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to summarize and present work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
