Caper Children's Services is Hiring a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Near Chicago, IL

As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you will play a vital role in providing applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will implement behavior intervention plans and conduct skill acquisition programs to support clients in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ABA Therapy Implementation:
  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) developed by the BCBA to address target behaviors and skill deficits.
  • Utilize behavior analysis techniques to teach adaptive skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and promote positive behavior change.
  • Collect accurate and reliable data on client behavior during therapy sessions, documenting progress and outcomes.
  • Direct Client Interaction:
  • Engage with clients in one-on-one and small group settings to deliver ABA therapy interventions based on their unique needs and treatment goals.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging environment to facilitate skill development, communication, social interaction, and independence.
  • Use positive reinforcement strategies to reinforce desired behaviors and motivate clients to participate actively in therapy activities.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Maintain open communication with the BCBA and other members of the interdisciplinary team to discuss client progress, behavior challenges, and treatment adjustments.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on client performance, including data analysis and observations, to support treatment planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, educators, and other stakeholders to ensure consistency in implementing behavior support strategies across different environments.
  • Professional Development:
  • Complete required training and ongoing supervision as mandated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to maintain RBT certification.
  • Stay informed about best practices, research findings, and advancements in the field of applied behavior analysis, seeking opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines outlined in the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts.

Requirements:

  • MUST have Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, special education, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities in a clinical, educational, or community-based setting.
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques, including discrete trial training (DTT), naturalistic teaching strategies, and behavior management strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to document client progress and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
