Position: Overnight Security Manager
Reports to: General Manager
The primary responsibility of the Security Department is the protection from and the elimination of any element or agent which may tend to jeopardize the welfare and security of the team members and guests of The Pridwin. This not only entails loss of life, but loss by fire, theft, flood, drought, deterioration of property, civil suit and any other elements by which your employer might suffer embarrassment and/or financial loss. Although you are not a law enforcement officer, you have the authority and right to protect property and all guests of the casino.
Prevention of the aforementioned is best achieved by accurate reporting and vigilant observation. The Security Officer serves as the most fundamental extension of management. They’re responsible for manually monitoring all activity on the property, as well as their immediate surroundings. They’re likewise responsible for the reporting of incidents that are suspicious in nature. Furthermore, they’re to log an account of all guests whose character appears to be suspect. Those reports must be submitted on a regular basis to the General Manager each morning. These efforts will serve as both corrective and preventive combatants to disputed breeches in security.
When dealing with others always remember the “Golden Rule”- Treat others the way that you would like to be treated. This can be achieved by treating others in a friendly and courteous manner. Anytime that Security Officers are in the public eye they must always project a friendly, responsible, and outgoing image. This positive attitude displayed towards others will help ensure that the Security Department will maintain good customer relations with the public, which in turn will result in guest satisfaction
If all Officers study and fully understand the practice of following procedures, we will have a department that can operate smoothly and efficiently, elicit willing cooperation from associates and establish a cordial relationship with the public.
In all cases of emergencies such as, fire, bomb threats, blackouts, power failures, etc, all Security Officers who are on break, lunch, etc., shall return to duty as soon as the emergency is broadcasted over the radio. Contacting the General Manager immediately regardless of time of day of week.
Our overnight security operations at night. Areas of responsibilities include protection of property assets, employees, guests and property, accident and fire prevention and response. Ensures that all areas of the property are safe and secure. Maintains logs, certifications and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures. In the case of any incident, guest or staff, is responsible that all details are captured, and logs kept. This, in conjunction with the General Manager to meet all reporting requirements of both local municipal bodies and satisfy the needs of the hotel’s primary insurer. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of the department.
