Position: Farm Tour Guide – Part Time

Reports to: Director of Agriculture

Position Overview:

As a Farm Tour Guide for Beach Plum Farm, this position is dependent on an ability to interface with the public and provide accurate information concerning specialized interests. This position contains aspects of customer service, information dissemination, and continuing education. A tour guide is responsible for the overall promotion of Beach Plum Farm and Cape Resorts Properties through historical knowledge and entertainment. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Engaging and involving customers in the experience 
• Explaining the history of Beach Plum Farm, Cape Resorts, and Cape May
• Describe points of interest along the tour and answer questions as required
• Greet and assemble guests, check required passes before departing on tour
• Keep accurate tracking of tour attendees 
• Manage time and length of tour to stay within allotted time

• Creative methods of communication
• Positive attitude and high work ethic
• Ability to memorize the history.
• Ability to do thorough research and become an expert on the tour subject in order to answer guests questions 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School or equivalent education required
• 2 years’ experience in a guest services role is required
• Previous tour guide experience is preferred 
• All employees must maintain a neat and clean appearance per Cape Resorts standards
• Must be available on weekends

This position is ideal for a candidate seeking to work 1.5 hours a day, 3-5 days a week. There may be potential for additional hours through cross training to support other activities within the programming department.
