Applications are now being accepted for the following position for the 2024-2025 School Year:

Middle and Upper School Social Studies Teacher

Major Responsibilities:

  • Teach 5 sections, including multiple Middle School sections and multiple Upper School World History sections. 
  • Serve as a faculty advisor to 10-12 students.
  • Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies to meet the needs of all students.
  • Collaborate with staff members to create engaging lessons and a positive school culture.
  • Provide tutoring to individual and small student groups as required.
  • Sponsor a student club and/or coach an athletic team.
  • Track student data and uphold high behavioral and academic expectations.
  • Communicate and build relationships with students and families.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications: 

A qualified candidate will:

  • Be knowledgeable in the instruction of middle and upper school social studies students and be prepared to support developmental differences across 6th through 12th grades.
  • Have an interest in and ability to contribute to extracurricular activities.
  • Have a commitment to contributing to a community that values equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in subject area required; a Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Three or more years of teaching experience at the middle and/or high school levels, preferably in an independent school environment.
