THE POSITION:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Electrical Craft Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering instructional sessions to apprentices enrolled in our apprenticeship program. The instructor will ensure that all teaching materials and methodologies align with the standards set forth by the University of Canyon State Electric (UCSE) and the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) and will report to the Program Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments in accordance with UCSE and NCCER standards.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive instructional sessions that cover a range of topics related to electrical craft, including but not limited to electrical theory, safety protocols, wiring methods, and code compliance.
  • Maintains accurate records of student attendance, timesheets, performance, and progress while providing timely feedback to apprentices and program administrators.
  • Collaborate with program administrators to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for program enhancement.
  • Keep the instruction area clean, organized, and conductive to learning, adhering to established cleanliness and organization standards.
  • Submit orders for supplies and materials as needed to ensure the efficient operation of instructional activities and the maintenance of adequate resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional level electrical trade experience, with a strong foundation in electrical theory, practical applications, and code requirements.
  • Prior experience in teaching or training in an educational or vocational setting preferred.
  • Proficient in using technologies and tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences (computers & tablets, Microsoft suite)
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous learning experiences.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changing program needs and student dynamics.
  • Bonus: possession of relevant industry certifications (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician)
