We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to become part of our team as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). This position requires a proactive, team-oriented leader who can thrive in a growing organization. This is a hands-on leadership position that is highly visible and reports to the Chief Executive Officer and will interact heavily with the Senior Management Team.

Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) position is to provide leadership, guidance, direction and support to all Cantex divisions including skilled nursing, home and community based and Medicare Advantage plan. The CNO will ensure clinical excellence through high-quality, consistent and safe nursing care, nutrition services and clinical education. 

This position is also responsible to design, implement and evaluate clinical programs that distinguish the services from other providers. The CNO will ensure all business entities are in compliance with the delivery of care in accordance with the Cantex mission, vision and values while meeting state, and federal standards of care.

Qualifications

  • A current and valid RN license is required; BSN preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing at a senior level with focus in the post-acute arena.
  • Proven results in managing multi-entity clinical organization with positive outcomes in various quality metrics
  • Through knowledge of state and federal regulations to maintain compliance.
  • Must have proven experience in effective leadership with an ability to define outcomes and develop leaders to maximize potential.
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures to implement new clinical systems with the ability to create a roadmap for implantation and adoption.
  • Highly developed management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to manage all forms of effective communications 
  • Capacity to travel in various forms of transportation with overnight stays

Qualifications


Essential Functions

  • Provide accessible, timely, efficient and cost-effective care by utilizing evidence based practice and continuous performance improvement
  • Serve as the primary clinical leader in advancing the clinical outcomes for each business entity through the support of the Senior Management Team and Regional Nurses
  • Develop and implement regulatory recommendations to ensure continued compliance related to patient care
  • Adopt and implement Cantex’s Clinical Policies and Procedures and Patient Care Management Systems. Ensure these policies and procedures are current with standards of practice and reviewed on an annual basis
  • Plans, delegates and coordinates patient care assignments considering staff competencies, patient population, equipment used, condition of patient, environmental factors, infection control and safety factors and availability of direct/indirect supervision
  • Ensures initiation of patient assessment/reassessment and care plan within time frame specified for the patient population served
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the achievement of Cantex’s goals and objectives
  • Monitors and evaluates quality, appropriateness and outcomes of patient care delivered according to established nursing standards of practice through performance improvement activities
  • Participate (on-site or off-site) in the federal and state regulatory site visits to offer guidance
  • Direct the development of clinical education on trends identified during surveys, family complaints and review of CASPER Reports/Quality Measures.
  • Oversee advancements of dining services to offer an enhanced dining experience while maintaining all dietary related regulatory requirements
  • Provide guidance and oversight for any internal and external reportable event and recommends plan of action and provides feedback to Senior Management team when appropriate
  • Preside over the Corporate Quality Assurance Committee, the Corporate Clinical Committee, and the Corporate Validation Survey Team to report findings to the Senior Management Team. Participate in the Clinical Risk Management Committee.
  • Review chart audit results for assessing care rendered, outcomes achieved for certain reportables and general areas of concern, i.e. family complaints, trend concerns, etc. 
  • Oversee Validation Survey Process to identify trends in patient care
  • Directly responsible for the oversight, management, and advancement of the Quality Measures to ensure strong outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with operations and ownership to advance the Private Pay Initiative and work to introduce equipment and programs to enhance and “deinstitutionalize” the overall environment
  • Assist in the culture change initiative for Cantex including introducing programmatic changes that follow the spirit of patient-centered services
  • Applies the principles and values of customer service and continuous quality improvement while performing day to day activities of the position
  • Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care, personnel and strategic issues
  • Perform tasks as assigned by Chief Executive Officer
