Description

The Marketing Manager will contribute to and execute a comprehensive marketing plan driven by Cannon’s mission, vision and values. Their work will leverage traditional and emerging tools to create awareness among diverse audiences. They will aim to amplify inclusive voices to enable more universal belongingness, and will ground messaging in why Cannon School is the best choice for JK-12 education. The Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Communications as part of the Office of Advancement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead collaborative process to create annual Marketing and Digital Media Plans rooted in research, trend analysis and higher level strategy. Include mission-driven tactics to engage external constituencies (including prospective families, prospective employees, and the media) and raise Cannon School’s public profile
  • Approach content creation and execution with an understanding of and appreciation for Cannon’s focus on Diversity, Belongingness, and Engagement
  • Create content and serve as account administrator for Cannon’s primary social media channels, examine distribution and segmentation of existing social media accounts, and provide oversight for and collaborate with partner-led channels
  • Contribute to maintaining Brand Standards and Style Guide, promote and facilitate adherence to standards and guidelines for partner-created content across channels
  • Concept and execute video and photo production, manage photography schedule, outsourcing as needed, and organize photography and other media for efficiency, continuity, and archiving
  • Collaborate with Strategic Enrollment Team and Office of Admission on Google ads and SEO tools and campaigns. Manage annual ad campaign, including contract negotiation, media buys, production of print and online ads, and tracking ROI
  • Manage marketing budget in an accurate and timely manner, manage vendor and sponsorship contracts
  • Provide basic graphic design and manage outsourced design work
  • Manage relationships and workflow with campus partners to facilitate creation of dynamic content that will promote Cannon School to external constituencies
  • Provide support for public-facing events
  • Manage media list and collaborate to manage media relationships
  • Create content for and manage external/public facing aspects of website
  • Manage public-facing review profiles such as Niche, Google, Facebook, etc.
  • Manage interns as applicable
  • Engage in other marketing and communications projects as directed by the Director of Communications

Qualifications


Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field, including content creation for print and digital media, and strategic design
  • 2 years experience managing social media for a business, non-profit or school
  • Understanding of issues related to diversity, inclusion and belonging in K-12 education
  • Excellent organizational, written, editorial, technical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage dynamic interpersonal relationships to facilitate mutually beneficial working relationships with a variety of constituencies, including parents, faculty/staff, donors, and students
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple concurrent projects with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrated experience efficiently meeting deadlines
  • Flexible availability around special events

Preferred

  • Photography and/or video editing experience
  • Non-profit or education experience
  • Experience using SEO and AI to maximize outcomes
