BlueLinx has created a new Sales Leadership Position to work with directly with our Building Relationship Partners. The role new role is the National Accounts Manager – Builder Relationship. This opportunity manages all aspects of sales for the national and regional builder segment. He/She will set goals/objectives, performance targets and monitor sales performance/pricing practices. The National Sales Manager will support and drive local sales force effectiveness and key productivity initiatives. Working across business functions to drive sales and profitability and key competencies include intimate knowledge and contacts within the builder segment and ability to drive growth across the entire organization. BlueLinx has a hybrid work schedule. This right person will be scheduled to be in the office Tuesday-Thursday and comfortable working from home on both Monday and Friday – when not traveling for business meetings. BlueLinx provides our customers and suppliers with a wide range of value-added services and solutions. Day in the Life: Creates the company’s go-to-market strategy and drives demand for our products at the builder level.Establishes programs and relationships with key strategic vendor partners that are invested in the builder segment.Manages and develops relationships with key dealer/retail customers and determines strategy for value proposition and product penetration, working with these customers to build builder pull-through opportunities.Improves profitability, product penetration, product mix, and inventory turn with all customers for the builder segment.Assesses the market size, product opportunities, and key geographies for assigned customer segments to determine BlueLinx’s builder pull-through strategy.Works with Regional VPs and General Managers to develop local sales plans that specify what needs to be achieved and build execution plans for achieving or exceeding targets.Directs sales representatives in identifying/prospecting new sales opportunities with new and existing customers, maximizing sales efforts by focusing time on the largest and most profitable opportunities.Conducts joint sales calls with sales representatives to identify opportunities and maintain/build customer relationships (including sales representative coaching/mentoring). Experience:BA / BS required in Business, related field, or equivalent industry experience preferred. MS / MA / MBA a plus7 years of experience in related areas of responsibility preferred. Prior relationship with home builder organizations. Preferably with the top 20 home builders.National builder sales experience, knowledge of product pricing, purchasing, account management, warehousing, transportation, safety, business development, customer service, and support. Financial acumen (specifically financial statements), and strong analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative). Planning, negotiation, decision-making, innovation, change management, persuasiveness, and strong interpersonal skills. Teamwork is the ability to function well at different levels in a team environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities, sense of urgency, innovation, and problem solving. Customer focused. Consultative and relationship selling skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Software and relevant sales systems technology.
