EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 0 years manufacturing technician experience required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following, however other duties may be assigned.

  • Material Preparation for Midé product lines
  • Product Assembly
    • Soldering and rework skills, including surface mount components
    • Basic hand tools for final assembly
  • Product Lamination
  • Product Singulation
  • Product Inspection
  • Product Testing
    • Inclusive of Return Material Authorization (RMA) testing and troubleshooting
    • May help to design and build test fixtures for support of production needs.
  • Product Packaging
  • Operation [JL1]of equipment required to manufacture Midé products
    • Laminator
    • Lamination Press
    • Inspection Equipment
    • Test Equipment
    • Electronic Laboratory Equipment
      • Benchtop power supply
      • Function generator
      • Multimeter
      • Oscilloscope
  • Follow and create test procedures and other supporting documentation (e.g. drawings, bill of materials, etc…)
  • Able to read basic electrical schematics 
  • Ability to design basic PCBs used in test equipment, and maintain existing PCB designs in Altium Designer
  • Support supply chain in the sourcing of electrical and electro-mechanical components. May involve finding alternate components with equivalent specifications
  • Ensure all general manufacturing work and projects areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Organization of general manufacturing work areas, and storage areas
  • Commitment to maintain high standards of laboratory safety, order, and cleanliness.
  • Adherence to Midé policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The manufacturing technician reports directly to the Production Manager. There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

US Citizen or US Green card holder. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Minimal, occasional carrying/moving/storage of materials and supplies. Employees must comply with all Midé Safety Procedures, wear appropriate PPE when and where required, report Dangerous Situations to Safety Team and occasionally participate in 6S audits. Standing or moving the majority of the day, lift and maneuver heavy components multiple times a day, repetitive motions, operating light machinery is required.

[JL1]Is it unreasonable to ask the Technician to also support the basic upkeep of said equipment (at least for basic things that are beyond what current employees are capable of, but are within his capabilities)? Much of the equipment is aged out there and needs support and/or help selecting new equipment altogether.
