Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana is seeking a 3/4-time Community Engagement Coordinator to welcome and engage community volunteers in the service of our mission: to enhance the quality of life of those affected by cancer. CSNI maintains an exceptional, client-driven culture designed to meet the individual needs of the whole person while building a community of support they can come to rely on. Volunteers at Cancer Services are key to this support and are highly motivated to make a difference in any way they can. The Community Engagement Coordinator will lead this community of volunteers in the successful giving of their time and talents, nurturing that desire and connecting them to gratifying experiences that make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.

Pay Range: $19 - $23 / hour – 30 hour weeks

Our Community Engagement Coordinator will be a Volunteers Champion who will

• Present regular, effective recruitment activities to seek volunteers capable of representing CSNI in the community, assisting with events, and/or providing clients with specific services
• Effectively and regularly engage new recruits to shepherd them into active volunteerism
• Match volunteers with arising opportunities according to their interests/abilities
• Support volunteers in achieving their reasons/goals in volunteering, providing on-going recognition and gratitude on behalf of the clients served
• Coordinate/secure existing volunteer drivers for clients’ needs for transportation to treatment and other cancer-related appointments as requested by client advocates.
• Take responsibility for logistics, software utilization, project implementation, promotion; fully participate in process improvement with the goal of effectively engaging the community in the mission through volunteerism.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records with necessary documentation to accurately reflect the contributions
• Work with the Director of Communications to ensure broad and active participation in health fairs
• Recruit, train, and match volunteers capable of representing CSNI at health fairs across the region
• Complete and coordinate any fees and documentation required related to health fairs
• Ensure that presentation materials, posters and boards represent CSNI well.
• Integrate volunteer appreciation through both relationship and activities.
• In conjunction with staff and leadership, assess unmet client, program, and agency needs where volunteers could be utilized and develop those volunteer roles

Qualifications:

• Experience with and appreciation for investing in providing opportunities for people to thrive.
• Experience in volunteerism or similar coordination; certification in volunteerism a plus.
