Campfire Ranch is Hiring a Marketing Manager Near Gunnison, CO

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Marketing Manager creates and leads the strategic planning and execution of all marketing & advertising at Campfire Ranch. This role is expected to analyze research & data to identify key trends, create a shared brand vision & marketing strategy, and execute marketing strategy across all platforms to increase sales, word of mouth and influence with customers. The Marketing Manager will act as a counterpart alongside the operations team at all properties to assist in driving Campfire Ranch’s business, culture, communications and profitability. The Marketing Manager will use their independent judgment and discretion to formulate and—in close collaboration with the CEO—implement new and improved policies, procedures, and strategies for enhancing our brand and improving marketing efficiencies. This is the first dedicated marketing role Campfire Ranch has offered and is the start of what will become a marketing department.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Identify, understand and translate consumer insights, trends and research into marketing strategies.

-Develop marketing goals and the tactics needed to deliver against business priorities.

-Create short-term and long-term approaches to marketing our seasonal & geographically diverse business.

-Identify and capitalize on unique opportunities that drive Campfire Ranch’s brand image with target customers.

-Identify, seek out and foster relationships that grow brand authenticity and customer engagement.

-Execute brand marketing, communications and messaging across all platforms and channels.

-Identify and manage all external marketing resources that support an always on brand voice.

-Craft annual business plans and budgets for marketing activities alongside all departments.

-Execute all risk management procedures & communications as defined by Campfire Ranch leadership.

-Represent the Campfire Ranch brand in a positive and welcoming manner when meeting with customers, public, vendors & internal stakeholders.

-Uphold a work-hard, play-hard mentality alongside the entire Campfire Ranch team.

-Provide direction and insight to the leadership team on a regular basis.

KEY DELIVERABLES:

Create and execute winning marketing activities that impact target consumers, making Campfire Ranch the leading camping and backcountry lodging brand.

-Develop and monitor ways of tracking marketing activities for regular review and decision making with leadership.

-Create marketing initiatives that capitalize on unique opportunities that drive the Campfire Ranch brand.

-Deliver forecasts and recaps related to marketing activities that are actionable for the entire team.

-Define marketing strategies that drive business year-round across all properties and seasons and all channels.

-Identify & define target consumer groups and segments whose purchases drive revenue for the business.

-Plan launch strategies for the announcement of events, new locations and big moments.

-Interact with consumers through all channels, leading community management for the brand.

-Constantly monitor successes and key learnings to best adapt marketing strategies and initiatives.

-Monitor market conditions and consumer research in the outdoor & hospitality industries.

-Implement key business functions for setup and deployment of marketing activities.

-Establish an annual marketing calendar in collaboration with the operations team.

-Coach, motivate and engage all business teams to participate in marketing activities.

-Manage the marketing budget in close collaboration with the Controller.

-Identify key business success metrics as it relates to marketing activities.

-Establish and maintain B2B marketing communications with brand & business partnerships.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-Ability to successfully manage marketing activities from strategy to execution related to the: outdoor industry, hospitality industry, guiding/outfitting, concierge services or events.

-Ability to work closely with an executive (CEO) to manage product and brand marketing in a startup business setting.

-Experience executing marketing activities in rural, remote, and outdoor settings, preferably with participant focused experiences, events, and hospitality.

-Ability to develop and implement new and improved strategies for marketing and advertising.

-Ability to work independently and efficiently in various outdoor environments.

-Experience managing budgets, schedules, and communicating with others to deliver against simultaneous deadlines.

-Superb organization, planning and attention to detail.

-Experience managing and growing brand partnerships.

-Strong communication skills and knowledge of public relations preferred.

-Experience interpreting and executing risk management procedures and managing crisis situations.

-Experience managing and leading a team comprised of all levels of employees.

-Experience overseeing and managing compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and working with an executive to formulate responses to legal and regulatory issues.

-Experience identifying and addressing personnel issues.

-Ability to understand and adjust to the needs of various seasons, environments, and communities, and make on-the-spot decisions addressing marketing issues that may arise.

-Patience and thoughtfulness in discerning customer behaviors, communications and attitudes.

-Exhibit creative thinking and the ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion to solve problems and overcome obstacles.

-Bachelor’s degree preferred.

-2-3 years marketing work experience in the outdoor or hospitality industry preferred.

ROLE SPECIFICS:

-Start date: June, 2024

-Compensation: exempt employee, base salary starting at $65,000 based on experience, to receive paychecks on the 1st and 15th of each month.

-Bonus structure: at Campfire Ranch’s discretion.

-Benefits: $400 annual gear stipend, discounted friends and family stays at Campfire Ranch locations, industry discounts with partner outdoor brands, health insurance not provided at this time.

-Work Schedule: full-time, expected to work an average of 40hrs/week, including relevant holidays as needed, but subject to change.

-Mileage & travel costs: to be reimbursed for business trips outside of the Gunnison-Crested Butte Valley, with prior approval.

-Expenses: to be reimbursed via documented receipts for all approved business-related purchases.

-Location: Gunnison, CO

-Trave required: 20-40%
