Camp Zeke is a sleepaway camp located on 560 serene acres in Lakewood, PA (1 hour north of Scranton, PA). We are looking for a seasonal housekeeper to join our team from around mid-April until mid-November. Local candidates are open to commute, but we also are happy to provide room and board for applicants not close enough to commute. We run retreats and events in the spring and fall and welcome hundreds of campers during the summer.

Job description:

Housekeeping staff play a vital role in our camp - keeping our facilities clean for our camp community and visitors. Under the supervision of our Caretaker and Chief Operating Officer, you will assist in the various tasks:

• Cleaning of living cabins and lounges ( Sweep/mop floors, clean bathroom, dusting, check for cobwebs, look for lost and found items)
• Clean public bathrooms around camp and check sinks, toilets, and mirrors, replace toilet paper, replace paper towels, fill soap, and sweep the floor.
• Clean public spaces as assigned.
• Regularly check to make sure the housing building maintenance closets are fully stocked.
• As assigned you will work in the camp laundry, washing sheets, towels, blankets, tablecloths, etc. You will assist in the distribution of laundered items.
• Assist with general facility maintenance duties – i.e.. painting, power washing, changing light bulbs, plunging toilets, etc. As assigned, you will assist with basic gardening or lawn cutting.
• Provide support in other areas as directed by your supervisor or the camp director.

Requirements:

• Maintenance and or housekeeping experience is required.
• Able to work from mid-April to mid-November in Lakewood, PA. There can be some flexibility with the start and end dates.
• This is a Six-Day a week position and includes Room and Board if desired. Some flexibility can be given on certain weekends that you might need off in full.
• Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
