Licensed Clinicians - Assessors provide Comprehensive Behavioral Health Assessments (CBHAs) for children who are in court ordered out-of home placement to assess their need for behavioral health and other services. A CBHA is an in-depth and detailed assessment of the child’s emotional, social, behavioral and developmental functioning within the family, home, school and community, and as such, includes direct observation of the child in these settings. Assessments are provided to children in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

Service tasks include:

  • Completion and submission of final Comprehensive Assessments for referred children within 23 days of referral date to Camelot.
  • Comprehensive Assessments shall be completed according to all applicable Medicaid regulations and Safe Children Coalition requirements.
  • If the referral source requires additional follow-up after the Comprehensive Assessment is submitted, Contractor understands this additional follow-up work is included in the costs of the completed Comprehensive Assessment.
  • Completion of all assessment paperwork to include Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Assessment, comprehensive template, and the log of contact hours.
  • Contractors shall meet all training requirements as specified by Medicaid and Safe Children Coalition and will provide documentation of meeting these requirements upon request.
  • Reimbursement of billable hours shall be defined in the Medicaid Community Behavioral Health Coverage and Limitations Handbook. .Payment will be made to Contractor within 15 days of Camelot receiving payment from Medicaid or other source of payment.
  • All services will be provided in accordance with COA standards, local, state, federal laws and regulations, state licensing standards, and all applicable professional and regulatory bodies.
  • Contractor will abide by the professional code of ethics for his/her discipline, and the laws of Florida regarding children, families and reporting requirements

Qualifications


Must have a Masters degree and be licensed as a LCSW, LMFT, LMHC or the like with a minimum of 2 years experience working with children who have experienced abuse, neglect or other trauma is REQUIRED. Additional requirements include the need to carry own insurance as LIP, possess excellent writing and assessment skills and have a list of current (within last 2 years) conferences, workshops attended, and CEU’s earned, dedicated to relevant child and family treatment issues. Before assignment of a CBHA, LIP will be assistedto obtainthe Medicaid CBHA Provider Certification. Knowledge of Florida’s Child Welfare Practice Model a plus.
