Job Title: Gauge Calibration Technician

Hours: 2nd shift - 4:15 p.m. - 2:15 a.m.

Location: Hanover Park, IL

Summary: The gauge technician manages the procurement, tracking, maintenance, and calibration of mechanical and electrical measurement devices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Obtain measurement devices as requested by Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Interpret engineering drawings and define appropriate class
  • Physically identify devices with unique identification number
  • Set devices for use on the floor per established procedures
  • Repair or troubleshoot problem devices as required
  • Assist in identifying measurement methods for non-standard requirements
  • Maintain location and status information for all measurement devices
  • Issue measurement devices to manufacturing in advance of the start of production
  • Perform verification and/or calibration of all devices at specified frequencies
  • Record verification and/or calibration results per established procedures
  • Report non-conforming devices to the appropriate personnel
  • Follow established safety practices and requirements pertaining to the type of work involved
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
