**Job Description: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Spokane, WA**
**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team at a 388-bed level 3 trauma center located in Spokane, WA. This is a 13-week contract position offering Day and Night 3x12s shifts. The RRT will primarily work with adult patients in Med Surg, ICU, and ED areas, providing critical respiratory care services.
**Requirements:**
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care Respiratory Therapy experience
- 3 years of NICU experience with proficiency in HFOV (High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation) and NICU ventilators
- Proficient in CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and high-flow cannulas
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification
- Experience with ABG (Arterial Blood Gas) drawing and analysis, BiPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure), ventilator/tracheostomy management, high-flow oxygen therapy, and nebulizer treatments
- Experience working with EPIC EMR system
- Ability to work a rotating weekend schedule (3 weekend days per month)
**Responsibilities:**
- Perform respiratory assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans based on patient needs
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation as prescribed
- Monitor and manage ventilator settings and respond to alarms and changes in patient status
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment use
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize patient care outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EPIC)
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
**Additional Information:**
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Times: Day Shift (0600-1830); Night Shift (1800-0630)
- Weekend Rotation: 3 weekend days per month
- Scrub Color: Any professional attire is acceptable
**Note:** This position is not suitable for first-time travelers due to the specialized experience requirements in NICU and acute care respiratory therapy.
