CAMARILLO HEALTH CARE DISTRICT is Hiring a Transportation-Driver (FT, PT, schedule TBD) Near Camarillo, CA

Driver
Under general supervision of the Adult Day Center Director, the
Driver will provide non-emergency day transportation mostly
frail, elderly and/or disabled clients, including transportation for
Adult Day Center. Drivers are required to complete pre and post-
drive safety checks, comply with all traffic laws and District
policy, participate in trainings and interact with clients and
families in a professional and compassionate manner.
Example of job duties:
Safely transport frail, elderly and/or disabled riders to and
from medical appointments and other activities of daily
living in a compassionate, professional and respectful
manner; complete required paperwork, comply with
maintenance checklists and schedules, comply with any/all
traffic laws and regulations, state laws and regulations, and
District policies, procedures and best practices.
Other duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for assigned schedule management
including client pickup, loading, unloading, and safe
delivery to destination.
- Provide safe and sensitive assistance to special needs
- Participate in appropriate assistive device training,
medical equipment, safety around the use of oxygen
canisters, etc
- Administer First Aid, CPR, and emergency aid as
changes in client health status or behavior; follow
safety protocol and procedure.

- Communicate effectively and professionally via mobile
- Work in cooperation with other staff.
- Complete required paperwork in accurately and timely.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate must be a skilled driver with a valid CDL
Class-B with Passenger Endorsement, have a clean driving
record and be able to comply with state, county and local
laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong
work ethic, a kind and compassionate nature, and have the
ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to
communicate clearly, tactfully and effectively both verbally
and in writing, exercise excellent judgement with regards to
client safety and risk management, be able to establish
rapport and effective working relationships with clients, co-
workers and management, maintain required confidentiality,
be organized, and have the ability to deal with frail clients in
a caring, respectful, patient and professional manner.
DRIVER WANTED

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School degree or equivalent. Associate Degree with
courses in health sciences, geriatrics, recreation, sociology a
plus.
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years Commercial Class B with Passenger
Endorsement or Commercial Class C with Passenger
Endorsement
- Minimum 2 years working with frail, elderly, disabled,
- CPR/First Aid/AED training required
- Sensitivity training and training on the use of assistive
- Knowledge of Camarillo/Ventura County roadways
- Excellent customer service skills
- No smoking on the job/in vehicles; no visible tattoos
- Uniform shirt required while on duty
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs on a daily basis
- Must be able to perform wheelchair transfer/assist transfer
- Must be able to assist unsteady/frail/weak clients, on and
- Must have knowledge and be able to properly and safely
operate hydraulic wheelchair lift, wheelchair tie
downs/locks, and secure other assistive devices on the
vehicle
- Must be able to stand, sit, drive up seven (7) hours per
changing conditions which may alter the direction of
operations.
Other Requirements:
• Valid Commercial Class B with Passenger Endorsement or
- Minimum 2 years working Criminal records clearance;
- Clean CA driving record;
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification required
- Means of transportation
Compensation
• $23.00 per hour.
• Part Time
- Schedule TBD within regular business hours
